- (Former) Honglim Law Firm
- Wonkwang University Law School
- Yeungnam University Department of Mechanical Engineering
much information about my work is already available online,
I don’t feel the need to boast about it.
am not from the so-called SKY (Seoul, KAIST, Korea University),
I am not from a large law firm, nor am I a prosecutor or judge.
I am simply one of many attorneys. I am a quiet worker who puts in a lot of effort.
Therefore, without exaggerating advertising, and instead of asking for
unreasonable fees with sugar-coated words, I serve my clients with integrity
and do my best for those who entrust me with their legal matters.
Lawyer
Sanghyeon Kim, Attorney
-J.D., Pusan National University Law School
-Former Deck Officer, Pan Ocean Co., Ltd.
-B.S., Department of Navigation, Korea Maritime and Ocean University
[Key Case Highlights]
- Secured compensation for a client in a divorce case involving
emotional abuse and gaslighting.
- Successfully petitioned for an increase in child support after uncovering
that the opposing party had underreported income during mediation.
- Prevented disciplinary action against an educational public servant by having
a child abuse allegation redirected to a family protection case.
My background may come as a surprise to someI began
my professional journey not in a courtroom, but on the open sea,
serving as a navigator charting courses across the world’s oceans.
Life at sea, while often romanticized, demanded resilience and sharp judgment.
As a navigator, I encountered not only technical challenges but also deeply
complex and interwoven human issues.
What left the greatest impression on me were the moments when my colleagues
faced unjust treatment or were unable to defend their rights due to ambiguous
legal standards or a lack of protective frameworks.
These firsthand experiences awakened in me a strong sense of justice and
a desire to become a voice for those without one.
This ultimately led me to pursue a career in law—where I could offer clear,
effective solutions rooted in real-world understanding.
Today, although I’ve traded the wheelhouse for the courtroom,
I continue to rely on the skills honed during my time at sea: analytical thinking,
composure under pressure, sound decision-making,
and a deep understanding of complex systems.
These strengths allow me to identify the heart of a legal issue and deliver strategic,
outcome-driven solutions.
